La Jolla Residence

The owners of a 3,000 square foot 1960’s ranch style one-story house wanted a remodel that created a Green and Green brothers craftsman house that was true to the level of detail and authenticity that could be found in the famous houses from a century prior. Working with a revered San Diego architect who was an expert on Green and Green, the radical transformation included a two-story addition. Every window, door, and all the wood detailing for the stairs, lighting, and finishes were custom made over the course of a two-year construction period by a dedicated and extraordinarily talented general contractor. The results were stunning and visually arresting, including stained glass that was fabricated by the same company that created the windows for the original Green and Green houses in Pasadena.
